Cloze activity

What?

I am learning how to do a cloze activity to help me with my reading

Being able to make logical predictions about what word would fit correctly into a sentence is a successful reader strategy.

So What?

We use the following procedures:

1. Read the whole text so that we can get an overall picture of the text.
2. Re-read the text and think of words that would fit into the gaps. Write them down
3. Look at the word list for this activity and see if I am correct / make changes

P = I need a little help. I prefer to look at the word list rather than have a go to predict the missing words. I have some confidence

Keeping Ourslelves Safe

What? I am learning to make safe decisions.

So what? it will help me and others keep safe.

Now what? if you don't like actions people are doing to you tell them you don't like it.

WALT:sleepover and have fun at the year 4 sleepover.

I learned how to play some really fun games.

P.E

WALT: Catch a large ball.

I learned that I can catch a ball without dropping it.

Here is an example of my learning

Twist and Throw - Miss B taught me how to throw and catch a large ball.

Next time I will try not to drop the ball.

mosaic butterfly

WALT  Create a mosaic picture using pastel and Indian ink.

 I learned to use my pastel inside the line in bold so no white shows through.

Here is a example of my learning.

Next time i will make sure the pastel is not on the chalk.

My Mihi

WALT introduce ourselves in Maori.

I  learned to pronounce words correctly.

My best sentence is ko Jordyn toku ingoa.

I achieved my goal because I can say the words properly.

My next step is to learn more Maori words and pronounce them correctly.
